My Bio
Proof that I'm not a geek? I'm a baby boomer and a gardener. I worked as a court reporter in Washington, D.C. for 30+ years until I started blogging in 2005. Though I'd never been paid to write in my life, that first blog led to being hired as a columnist for my local newspaper, to write promotional pieces for a local university, being recruited to create a team blog that became the leader in its field, and requests from major publishers to write books. I've also used blogs and websites to promote a variety of urban greening organizations in Washington, D.C.
